Environmental and Health and Safety assessments (EHS audit)
Environmental and Health and Safety assessments (EHS audit) represent the fundament of our services, based on our considerable experience. EHS audits are mainly realized as a part of the transaction processes when the potential buyers need to understand the risks and the level of liability inherited, which results from the implemented EHS management and historical practices. Beside the transactions, this type of service is deemed by the large companies interested in conducting internal, corporative audits in order to understand the compliance status compared either with legislation, good management practice or internal standards. Individual aspects provided within this type of service, commonly being intertwined and combined, are as follows:
- EHS audits realized by simple review of the available documents or as comprehensive assessment (due diligence);
- EHS and social policy assessments conducted for the needs of the large international financial institutions (EBRD, WB, IFC, etc.), respecting their standards and accompanied with development of the action plans for investment monitoring;
- legal compliance assessments;
- technical-technology processes and equipment, and process safety assessments.
For the assessments that result in the need of site investigation, it is requested to evaluate the contamination status and to determine the presence of deleterious and hazardous substances and materials, in order to confirm or deny assumptions gained during the initial assessment. We are deploying professional and accredited associates for execution of the site investigation activities, ensuring provision of the unique service for the clients in one place, including the following:
- investigation scoping;
- geological, hydrogeological and other investigation activities on environmental media sampling;
- sampling of the construction materials and fragments of the process equipment and machines (construction materials for determination of asbestos fibres presence, oils from electrical units and process equipment for PCB detection, etc.) ;
- laboratory analyses provisioned by national or international accredited laboratories;
- evaluation of the contamination status and proposal of mitigation measures and final solutions.
